Justin Lioi describes that “Both And” thinking is an alternative way of thinking than the “Either-Or” mentality that most people have grown up with and can actually be quite limiting. The main points he uses to describe the benefit of using the “Both And” mentality: Positive thinking can do more harm than good, and being a realist who’s not a pessimist during COVID-19.
Interconnectedness- Article: The Pandemic's Impact on Climate Change
In this article, Dr. Simon Evans uses evidence to summarize how the coronavirus crisis has impacted energy use and CO2 use around the world. He predicts that the coronavirus crisis could trigger the greatest fall in CO2, even bigger than periods of war or previous economic crisis. Even with the huge drop in CO2 emissions, Dr. Simons reassures his readers that this is nowhere near enough to bring the 1.5 degrees celsius global temperature limit within reach.
Interconnectedness- Article: Connections Between the Coronavirus Pandemic and the World's Food Supply Chain
Amy Gunia explains how the pandemic is disrupting the global food supply at nearly every level and could have a devastating impact on food security throughout the world. Due to the fear and labor restrictions, harvests are going to waste around the world. Gunia warns that the current restrictions have the potential to cause food shortages in the future.

This article works as guidance and provides tips for staying well. There are three main guidance tips in the article: “Challenging Each Other to Stay Active”, “Encouraging Motivation and Mindfulness”, and “Sharing Tips for Staying Active”.

It threatens to rollback and even erase all the hard-earned social, economic and environmental progress made to advance the SDGs, particularly in the poorest nations and among the most vulnerable populations.

This is an April 2020 report by the Policy, Research and Statistics Department of UNIDO. The study shows “widespread economic losses” from the economic disruption caused by the Coronavirus outbreak. It is hurting societies and damaging economies, regardless of the income level and stage of development of the country.

Madukar Pai predicts that after the pandemic global health will become more popular and attract more people to the fields of public health epidemiology, infectious disease, and data science. Additionally, Pai discusses the negative fallout the pandemic will bring on our economy and health care systems and fears that development assistance will be cut as a result.
Implications of COVID-19 on Public Health

CVOID-19 and Hunger
David Muldrow Beasley addresses the worsening situations in for the people living in conflict zones. He addresses the seriousness of the situation by reflecting on his work with the World Food Program (WFP). The WFP donates food to almost 100 million people and some 30 million people rely on this source of food to stay alive. If the WFP is no longer able to reach these people, they estimate that 300,00 people will die every day for the next three months!

This informative UN website provides updated information on the Global Goals of the 2030 Agenda and how they have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. It aims to provide the global public with information to promote “an urgent and coordinated response that focuses on the health emergency as well as addresses the devastating social and economic dimensions of the crisis with an aim to build more equal, inclusive and sustainable economies and societies.”
